Even if it did most of the personal crafts used in the flotilla would not have enough space for the aid required to make a difference. I get its more of an optics thing. But logically this was always expected. 

  
They are spending weeks at sea - will need their own supplies to survive plus whatever donation aid they are bringing. Unless they had a couple shipping containers full of food and medicine....this was always just a publicity stunt.

As the boats were being rounded up, there were some who made it past the Israeli ships and then hilariously just waited to be intercepted. 

They had no real intention to reach the shores of Gaza as there was no aid on board and the didn’t want to risk landing under Hamas controlled Gaza.

The more "official" international humanitarian organisations are trying to take aid in on trucks, but being allowed across the border is very difficult and limited. 

Part of the reason to take a "flotilla", in full prior knowledge that you're most likely going to be blocked and arrested, is to draw public attention. Put eyeballs on the fact of the blockade/embargo preventing aid delivery, in the hope that it will influence opinions and increase political pressure to allow more/other aid in.

It is inherently an act of activism rather than pragmatic delivery of goods. The actual physical quantity of aid you could carry on a collection of small boats is relatively insignificant, even if you weren't inevitably going to be intercepted.

Because it was never about the aid, it was about the attention to the cause. 

The actual amount of goods carried on the boats is miniscule. They used mostly very small boats, crammed as full of people as possible. That doesn't leave a lot of room in the cargo holds on top of everyones luggage, sleeping space, food and water for the journey. If the point had been to deliver as many supplies as possible, the ships would've been staffed with the bare minimum of crews to free up space. 

The point was to draw attention to how bad the situation in Gaza is. Media access is extremely restricted, so there's not a lot of on-the-ground footage getting out, Israel has killed many of the local journalists and isn't letting foreign media in. Everyone on those ships had a phone, and they all had satellite internet for livestreams. There would've been a deluge of pictures and videos. And the far more likely scenario of all the boats getting stopped also gets you media attention and lots of interview opportunities afterwards where you can get your message in the media. That's why they tried to get people from as many countries as possible, because this is the kind of story that's far more likely to make it into the news if there's someone from the country affected. French media will talk about it if french people are arrested etc. 

All that talk about "breaking the blockade" is nonsense too. It's a naval blockade, unless you actually drive off or destroy the ships enforcing it just closes up behind you again. One or a few ships getting past doesn't open up a permanent corridor, and it's not like a video game where you make it to the glowy quest marker and poof, the enemies vanish in a convenient cutscene.

Similar initiative exist with more or less the same name since 2007. 
The red cross is clearly unable to work as they should so some people try to find a way. 
And I don’t see what is the suppose controversial agenda. I mean they are activist and they try to make a change. If they protested on media and don’t do anything, people will point that out, if they do something people will claim it’s just for their own benefits. 
I listened to a few people engage in the last one and they spend few days in prison, some of them been tortured and they’ve been on court.
So if you are an activist you try to raise awareness, and if you are pubic figures, then you leverage that.

Worth noting during this week more people are talking about the failed flotilla rather than any actual aid and that was the intent, to keep the conversation going.

Gaza has been in the news a lot but your average person isn't closely monitoring anything on it other than a few headlines. The longer people are focussed on it, the more chance of a potential public pressure.

On the Red Cross part: not in this case sadly. There was a very public incident of the IOF shooting up a Red Crescent (the local division of the Red Cross so to say) and killing them in full knowledge of who they were, and hiding the evidence by burying the ambulances afterwards. 

So this flotilla had the media eyes on it partially to ensure their security. If it's livestreamed and everyone know about it, it's unlikely Israel will do something as extreme as killing the participants.

The point is not to efficiently or effectively supply aid to Gaza through the Flotilla but to draw attention to the issue and to show just a slither of the challengers and violence actual aid workers do face. The channels that are most effective at doing this, like you say the Red Cross etc. are blocked and even violently restricted from doing so. Just google Rafah paramedic massacre. 
The Flotilla taking recognisable people from a number of different countries with international recognition (or local recognition in their own countries) is done so to garner support from the international community and apply pressure to both Israel and international governments. The hope to is that these activists would hopefully be protected by their prominence and international recognition. Aid workers are killed daily and unfortunately nothing gets said, if Greta was killed today the whole world would know. Puts Israel in position where their daily actions are now in a greater spotlight thanks to these activists respective platforms. Further if any thing had to happen to them it would put pressure on their respective government to act.

Because those ships aren’t just about aid  they’re also political statements. Groups send “flotillas” with activists on board to protest blockades and draw media attention. If it was strictly about aid, it would usually go through official channels like the Red Cross, UN, or NGOs. I have a friend that was arrested on one of the flotilla. She's a doctor. They knew they would be stopped and taken elsewhere. They knew the risk of an aggressive IDF and some vessels were water bombed btw. They were there to protest and yes to raise awareness. What the West is not being shown or told is that the so called diplomatic channels of delivering aid is a SCAM! My guess is that the Red Cross is supposed to stay 'neutral' and would find this action too politically motivated and that could compromise future actions. This is also a protest against a blockade. You can choose to take a side in a conflict but like all things this has consequences (but they are targeted nonetheless by Israel in Gaza anyway so it raises the question on how really they can stay 'neutral'). Basically how much people you could have saved by not appearing partisan vs partisan.

Did you even read your own source? Thats the cleaned up 2017 charter put out to make them look better to the rest of the world. Check out the founding charter (which they didn't actually revoke when they put out the new one). That ones a little more specific about their Ideas and a lot more racist.

Even in your source it says they dont recognize any deals that cede any land to Israel (they consider Israel their land), Israel isn't a recognized state, that they will retake the land (the entirety of Israel) by any means necessary and no one can limit their military. So, retake Israel "from the river to the sea" by any means necessary with an unpoliced military.

The flotilla is a publicity stunt. Aid is allowed into Gaza. These flotillas traditionally bring in a teacup’s worth of aid, which Israel always adds to the tons already going into Gaza. It’s just come out that there was an undercover reporter for the 4 months of this ridiculous stunt, and there is now lots of evidence that it was funded by the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. They have never faced any violence from Israel on either of these selfie flotilla missions. I honestly think it’s for attention. People tend to use situations like this to gain attention. There is absolutely no need for Greta to get on a boat with “supplies” and sail to Gaza after being told repeatedly not to and that they would be stopped. Guess what happened, they were stopped and got a nice photo op and are being sent back to where they came from. Multiple countries even reached out to them and offered to deliver the aid for them but they refused. Turns out that apparently there was no aid at all on the boat according to the Israel Foreign Ministry (take it with a grain of salt).

The amount of aid the flotilla could carry is negligible compared to the amount aid that Israel lets into Gaza. Israel offered to let the aid into Gaza via legal channels that allow for inspection of the goods, to make sure weapons don’t come in, which is the point of the blockade. 

In other words, it was all for show. It was to get clicks and to try to paint Israel as bad, even when they do things by the book. Activists who cared about innocent civilians and who weren’t antisemitic would call out Hamas for not accepting the end of war deal on the table and would not plan on arriving on Yom Kippur, the holiest day for Jews.

Because the entire thing is about headlines and propaganda.  Israel itself is providing constant humanitarian aid,  Other countries are being allowed in through some channels and there is even aid being airdropped in.  The real issue is not getting food into Gaza, plenty of food is getting in, it's well over the 2000 calories per person per day.  The real problem is that there is no governing body in Gaza to distribute it except Hamas who keep stealing it and storing it in their tunnels and preventing civilians from getting to distribution centers because their people starving is good PR for them.  Not to mention all the normal problems of actually distributing aid in a disaster zone.  The problem is not and never has been getting food to Gaza, it's getting said food to the individual people who need it without Hamas waylaying it.

The flotilla exists purely for grandstanding purposes.  Do you know why we aren't bringing aid in through the ocean through official channels?  Because when the US tried to build a pier for that purpose Hamas attacked it.  So those people on the flotilla don't even really want to get past the blockade because they know they'll probably be shot at or worse.  They want to get blocked on camera for views and deceptive headlines.
